2D compact compact fluorescent are an established range of products. Originally developed by Thorn lighting these lamps are now available from a number of different manufacturers. GE who have inherited the product from Thorn have pushed the product to a new level by reducing the wattage the lamps run at. So for example a GE 28W 2D will only run at 24W.
