Low energy compact fluorescent GU10 lamps are the very efficient replacements for conventional halogen GU10. They have useful properties such as long life and a huge choice of wattages and shapes. The low energy lamps tend to be longer than the halogen versions and this is not usually a problem if the lamp holder is NOT in a fixed position, ideally the lamp should be help in place by the front bezel thus the additional length is taken back into the fitting. If the lamp holder is a fixed position the additional length will cause the lap to protrude from the fitting.
