GE and Osram developed the GU6.5 CMH-TF or HCI-TF lamp in response to the Philips PGJ5 lamps. The main benefit of the GU6.5 lamp is that the base is far more robust than the PGJ5. There are however larger than the PGJ5 and are not suitable for retro-fit into halogen fittings.
