1st September 2009 - B-day.
This is the start of a new era of more energy efficient lighting. It is part of a much greater programme of banning inefficient energy using products, so this process is not confined to just light bulbs. Plasma screen televisions are being phased out in favour of LCD and you new fridge will have a lot less space inside as the insulation increases.
There is no arguing that this is a good idea, the problem is that the process of change has not been thought out properly so whilst we can supply replacements for most types many will have no substitute. You may not be able to find substitutes that will fit and consequently will have to make changes either to your electrical systems or buy new light fittings.
Should you require any help finding substitutes call our sales team for advice.
STOP PRESS The main press have made a huge mistake this week. From the 1st September it is illegal to produce or import (into Europe not the UK) diffuse lamps and incandescent lamps over 80w. ALL EXISTING STOCK CAN CONTINUE ON SALE UNTILL STOCKS ARE EXHAUSTED.
Stock can continue to be sourced within the EU so there will be a gradual decline in availability as each product becomes exhausted. Most popular lamps will become exausted within 12 months.
