    Ihnformation about clear Quartz Infra-Red halogen lamps with sleaves

    The risk with catering lamps is that the either get broken or they break when they fail. Whilst this does not happen very often if it does happen the hazard of glass is food is serious. As a result lamps have been designed with an outer jacket that protects the food should the halogen lamps break.  Even if the halogen lamps were to break inside the sleave it should not contaminate any food, If you are using bare lamps and you have room we reccomend switching to the sleaved lamps.
