Information about ruby jacketed Space heater infra-red lamps
These were the very first space heater lamps with a ruby jacket to reduce glare. They were highly popular and their invention lead to an explosion in demand and this is still one of the most popular Infra-Red designs on the market. Later these were replaced by the all in one Gold-slim and Ruby-Slim lamps which were far cheaper.
A by product of these lamps was the clear jacketed catering lamps. After ruby jacketd lamps were produced it dawned upon the industry tha a clwar jacketd lamp solved a on-going problem of food safety and so clear jacketed lamps are now the norm in catering.
