If ever there was an application where LEDs excel this is it. Coloured light bulbs are usually used in festoons are are subject to virbation and are often subject to the weather.

Traditional lamps are easy to dim perfectly. There is a limited range of dimmable coloured led lamps and they dim in a different way to traditional lamps, if you have a dimming application you may need to check compatibility.
