Information about dusk to dawn lamps
Dusk to dawn lamps are light bulbs that automatically switch themselves on when it gets dark and switch off again when it gets light. This is achieved by a built in photocell which looks like a black dot on some lamp and on others it is compleatly disguised.
The photocell can detect the difference between natural light and artificial light so that the bulbs when they switch oin do not detect their oiwn light and switch back off again! They can be used in conjunction with a timer on the circuit if you can foit one so that the light will come on say between 4pm and midnight if it is dark enough. This means that you do not have to keep re-setting the timer as the season changes.
