Information about LED Globe shaped Bulbs
Traditional globe lamps used tungsten filaments and typically had an average lifespan of around 1,000 hours. They also consumed far more electricity, usually between 25W and 150W. Modern LED globe lamps are far more efficient, typically using only 4–6W of power while lasting 15,000 hours or more.
Traditional bulbs dim very smoothly and their colour naturally becomes warmer as the voltage is reduced. LED globes work best with LED-compatible dimmers, although some may function on older dimmers. Most LED lamps maintain the same colour temperature when dimmed and simply reduce their brightness. However, dim-to-warm LED globes are available which replicate the traditional effect, becoming warmer and more yellow as the light level is lowered.
Another advantage of LED technology is the much wider range of lighting options. Traditional globe lamps were generally limited to clear or opal finishes, whereas modern LED globes are available in many tints, finishes, and colour temperatures. These range from very warm decorative tones to bright daylight, giving you far more flexibility to create the perfect lighting atmosphere.
